Metal-ceramic crowns

It is a common misconception that teeth are damaged by putting a crown on it. On the contrary, properly made crowns protect the tooth beneath it. Metal-ceramic crowns have become a standard in dentistry for many years now. The base of such a crown is made of metal. This metal is in the shape of the cap which covers the whole tooth, which is then coated with a layer of ceramic. The metal cap which is in contact with the tooth can be made of gold alloy, which has very good effect on tooth, or it can be made of non-precious metal alloy. Metal-ceramic crowns are very resistant, they last long and are aesthetically pleasing.
