A knocked out tooth may be reimplanted

In most cases, your dentist may reimplant your knocked out tooth.

It is essential for you to react fast, since time is critical in saving knocked-out teeth. The shorter the period outside the alveolus, the greater the chance of reimplanting the tooth. Research has shown that the periodontal ligament remains vital around 30 minutes outside the alveolus, i.e. the socket, and it is exactly this period of time that is considered optimal for the success of reimplantation. You can transport the tooth in a glass filled with milk or water, never in a dry handkerchief. You can also put it under your tongue. It would be best to rinse it in cold water, put it back in the alveolus and bite a handkerchief. This will help your tooth survive.
